Project Costs

Below are some rough project costs taken from a popular website, Home Advisor.  You can use this to roughly get an idea of the amount you should budget for your project.  Keep in mind that many factors will affect the cost of your project such as complexity of the remodel, materials used, size of the space, etc.

As a company, we pride ourselves on quality. We don’t cut corners and that holds true to the materials we use in our projects.  This means that we only use quality materials in our projects, which in turn makes us a little more expensive than hiring an average handyman to do these projects for you.  You should expect our projects to be in the middle to higher end of the costs below, but keep in mind that our remodeled spaces will hold up better in the long run and use higher quality finishes.  A good example of varying costs is a Master Bathroom.  If you want floor to ceiling marble tile in your shower, that will cost a good deal more than 12×12 ceramic tiles.

Items that are standard for us:

  • Only Sherwin Williams paint (not contractor grade)
  • No MDF in cabinet construction
  • No laminate flooring
  • Only porcelain tile for floors, never ceramic
  • Always concrete backer boards that are sealed for moisture in wet areas
  • Always waterproof carpet padding
  • Cabinets sanded, primed, sanded again and 2 finish coats of oil based paint applied
  • PVA always applied to new drywall or texture
Kitchen Remodel

On average, a kitchen remodel costs $25,090 or $150 per square foot. The total expense varies depending on the size of the space, the quality of materials, and whether you change the layout of the room.

A smaller project between $10,000 and $15,000 may include painting walls, refacing cabinets, upgrading the sink, and installing a tile backsplash. A $30,000+ renovation may include installing custom cabinets, hardwood floors, granite counters, and high-end appliances.

The kitchen serves as the heart and hearth of your home. It’s where you prepare your meals and where all your parties gather. Is it any wonder that remodeling this space is so popular and has the largest payoff in terms of boosting a property’s resale value? Of course, it’s also the most complicated and can be the most expensive.

Cabinet Refinishing

Refinishing cabinets costs $2,800 on average with a typical range of $1,714 and $3,924. It’s far cheaper than a new installation or refacing.

The process of refinishing includes removing old paint or stain, sanding and repairing the surface, and applying new, paint, stain, or varnish to the bare wood. By refinishing them, you can completely change the look and feel of your entire kitchen. The process requires experience and precision for a professional finish.

Bathroom Remodel

The average bathroom remodel costs $10,457 Most homeowners spend between $5,979 and $14,936. You can spend as little as $3,500 to $7,000 updating the essentials in a small or medium-sized bathroom. On a large or master bath, you could spend $25,000 or more.

Interior Painting

Painting a home interior or room costs $2 to $6 per square foot with most jobs averaging $3.50 per square foot. Total painting project costs range between $963 and $2,741 with a national average of $1,779. For an entire 2,300 square foot home, expect to pay between $4,000 and $11,000. For a single room, you’ll spend anywhere from $200 to $1,000.

Exterior Painting

Homeowners report that painting a home’s exterior costs an average of $2,843 with a typical range between $1,710 and $3,988. The average price per square foot ranges from $0.50 to $3.50 depending on your location, condition of your exterior and accessibility. Stucco and brick cost an average of $1 per square foot more than vinyl or wood. The average 2,500 square feet home costs an average of $4,000, though it can range from $1,250 to $8,750.

A two-story home can cost as much as 50 percent more to paint than a one-story home. The harder it is to reach an area; the more time spent adjusting scaffolding and ladders. More time spent on a job equals higher costs.

Cost to Paint a 2-Story House Exterior vs. Ranch-Style:

Home Size Square Footage (Estimated) Total Cost Range
Single story 1,000-1,500 $1,500-$3,500
Two story 1,500-2,500 $3,000-$6,200
Three story 2,500-3,000 $4,500-$10,000+
Hardwood Flooring

Installing wood floors costs an average of $6 and $22 per square foot. While it is far from the cheapest option on the market, it’s popular for its classic and warm appearance, durability and versatility. They can add value to your home when it comes time to sell, and can make any space look more appealing.

Engineered Hardwood Flooring

Engineered wood flooring costs from $3 to $13 per square foot. It is made of three to four layers of wood glued together and is generally more durable and environmentally friendly than real wood.

The material costs are about the same as traditional hardwood, but the installs are faster and cheaper.

Carpeting

On average, you’ll pay $3.50 to $11 per square foot. Prices vary based on several factors, including the pile of the carpet, room size and cost of installation.

Tile Flooring

Flooring costs from $5 to $20 per square foot for professional installation. Installing marble tile prices are similar and range from $10 to $20 per square foot.
